Desmond Flanagan, B.A., M.Sc., MPhil: Programme Director,

Programme Director and Psychologist.  Prior to retirement, Desmond worked in the NHS as a Mental Health Practitioner and Head Injury Information and Liaison Officer at the North Manchester General Hospital. He established the first support group for head injured people and their caring relatives at that hospital in 1978 following his son's head injury in 1976.

 

 

Maggie Cottam: Centre Manager.

Maggie is a former Maths teacher whose late husband had a cycling accident in 1979 resulting in a TBI.

 

Diane Marsh: Activity Co-ordinator.

Diane worked in Mental Health/Occupational Therapy for 17 years and dealt with TBI patients.

 

Volunteers

 

George Pascoe: Trustee and Director of Greater Manchester Head Forward Project Ltd.

George’s daughter sustained a TBI in 1987 and, from 1988 until 1999, George was Chairman of the North Manchester Headway group.

 

Jill Faulkner:

Jill became involved due to her husband’s brain injury.

 

Bernie Casey:

Bernie’s son was knocked down by a car in 1989 which left him with a TBI.

 

Reg Bowdler:

Reg is an experienced carpenter who became involved due to his son’s serious head injury.
